It was a sunny, cool afternoon, as I played the Scottish Highland bagpipes for Robert Scaplehorn's Graveside Service at Hermiston Cemetery in Hermiston, Oregon.

The airs High In the Hills, Hector the Hero, and Lament for Red Iain were played as family and guests arrived.

Going Home and Amazing Grace were played just before the service and Military Honors.

Skweez The Weezle at Sage Farm Celtic Concert

October 16, 2021
On this sunny late afternoon, I played Scottish smallpipes and whistles with Celtic band Skweez The Weezle for a Celtic Concert at Sage Farm on the base of Red Mountain near Benton City, Washington.

This concert was the initial event at Sage Farm, of hopefully what will be many more music and cultural events there in the future.

Ernie Place Funeral Service and Inurnment Service

October 15, 2021
I played the Scottish Highland bagpipes this afternoon for Ernie Place’s Funeral Service at Kennewick Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Kennewick, Washington. Highland Cathedral and Amazing Grace were played to start the service.

I then played for Ernie's Inurnment Service at
Desert Lawn Memorial Park, also in Kennewick Washington. Lament for Red Iain, High In The Hills, and Hector The Hero were played as family and guests arrived. Going Home was played after Military Honors. Amazing Grace was played at the end of the service.

Rosalie Browder Interment Service

On this beautiful afternoon, I played the Scottish Highland bagpipes for Rosalie Browder’s Interment Service at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, Washington.

Going Home, Scotland The Brave, Danny Boy, and Highland Cathedral were played as family and guests arrived. When Irish Eyes Are Smiling was played to start the service. Amazing Grace was played to end the service.

9-11 Remembrance

Under clearing skies this morning, I played Scottish Highland bagpipes for a 9-11 Remembrance before tee-off at a golf tournament at Walla Walla Country Club in Walla Walla, Washington.

I marched up the 10th fairway to the clubhouse playing 4/4 marches The Battle of Waterloo, Guinness Rambles, Scotland The Brave, and Murdo's Wedding. I played Amazing Grace during a moment of reflection at the clubhouse.

Skweez The Weezle at Tumbleweed Music Festival

September 03, 2021
I played Scottish smallpipes and whistle with Celtic band Skweez The Weezle at the 25th annual Tumbleweed Music Festival at the South Stage online in Richland, Washington. The festival was presented by Three Rivers Folklife Society and co-sponsored by the City of Richland and others. This online event will stay up until the 2022 festival.

David Lawing Graveside Service

On this beautiful morning, I played the Scottish Highland bagpipes for David Lawing’s Graveside Service at Sunset Gardens in Richland, Washington.

Lament for Red Iain was played as family and guests arrived. Going Home was played as the casket was carried to the grave site. Amazing Grace was played as the casket was lowered and last respects were offered.

This morning, I played the Scottish Highland bagpipes for Catherine Morris’s Funeral Service at the LDS Chapel in Milton-Freewater, Oregon.

Several tunes were played as family and guests arrived: Lament for Red Iain; Scotland The Brave, Rowan Tree, Murdo's Wedding; Hector The Hero; March of the King of Laois, Noble Squire Dacre; High In The Hills; and Lord Lovat's Lament.

Danny Boy was played as the casket was brought into the chapel. I led the casket to the hearse with Going Home. Amazing Grace was played as the casket was placed into the hearse.

I played Highland Cathedral at the start of the luncheon meal.

Jean Passaro Birthday Party

On a cold, wet afternoon, I played three types of bagpipes for Jean Passaro's 89th birthday party at Canyon River Estate near Milton-Freewater, Oregon. I started outside with several sets of tunes on the Scottish Highland pipes. Then I came into the spacious entryway and played several sets on Scottish Lowland pipes and whistle. I finished up with several sets on Scottish smallpipes and whistle. Several of the family in attendance were enthusiastic dancers to the faster tunes. Mike Day, my bandmate in Celtic band Skweez The Weezle, joined me on bodhràn.
