I played Scottish Highland bagpipes this afternoon for Jeana Beck's Celebration of Life service at New Hope Community Church in Hermiston, Oregon. Amazing Grace was played to start the service. Highland Cathedral was played at the end of the service as the casket was taken out of the church.

Alexander McCall Smith Presentation and Book Signing

This evening, I played the Scottish smallpipes for a Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries dinner and Highland bagpipes for a presentation/book signing by international best-selling Scottish author Alexander McCall Smith at Columbia Basin College Gjerde Center in Pasco, Washington.

Veteran's Day Ceremony

November 10, 2017
I played the Scottish Highland bagpipes this morning for a Veteran's Day ceremony at Tri-City Adventist School in Pasco, Washington. Amazing Grace was played at the end of the indoor program. Highland Cathedral was played to lead everyone outside to raise the flag of the United States of America.

Hanford Patrol Tactical Response Force Graduation

This morning, I played Scottish Highland bagpipes for the Hanford Patrol Tactical Response Force Graduation at the MSA Atrium in Richland, Washington. I piped the graduates into the ceremony playing Lord Lovat's Lament.

Mid-Columbia Libraries Bagpipe Performance and Presentation

This evening, I played Scottish Highland bagpipes, Border bagpipes, smallpipes for Mid-Columbia Reads' celebration of Scottish author Alexander McCall Smith. The performance and presentation of Scottish culture were at Highlands Grange Park Amphitheatre, located next to the Mid-Columbia Library in Kennewick, Washington. I played selections of tunes from the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands and presented information about the tunes, the bagpipes, the kilt and Highland attire, and Scottish culture.

This morning, I played Scottish Highland bagpipes for Arthur Snyder’s graveside service at Einan’s Sunset Gardens in Richland, Washington. Tunes played as guests arrived included: Scotland The Brave, Rowan Tree, and Murdo's Wedding; Suo Gan; Guiness Rambles, The Mill The Mill O', and Bonnie Lass of Fyvie; March of the King of Laois and Noble Squire Dacre; Lament for Red Iain; Lord Lovat's Lament; and Going Home. I played Amazing Grace just after the military honors. Highland Cathedral and Return From Glengarry were played as guests departed.

David Oakley Memorial Service and Military Honors

May 20, 2017
This afternoon, I played Scottish Highland bagpipes for David Oakley’s memorial service at Einan’s Event Center at Sunset Gardens in Richland, Washington. I played a selection of tunes as guests arrived. I then marched through the Event Center playing Going Home as Air Force personnel retrieved the colors and we led the guests outside to David's military honors ceremony. I played Amazing Grace just before the start of the ceremony.

Carol Newhouse Funeral and Graveside Service

May19, 2017
I played the Scottish Highland bagpipes this afternoon for Carol Newhouse’s funeral at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside, Washington. Amazing Grace was played for the service recessional. I then played for Carol's graveside service at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, also in Sunnyside. I played Danny Boy as the casket was brought to the gravesite. I then played Going Home during the laying of roses on the casket.

Heidi and David's Wedding

I played Scottish Highland bagpipes this afternoon for Heidi and David’s wedding at the The REACH museum in Kennewick, Washington. The piper's selection of Return From Glengarry was played to start the event. Wedding party families and the officiant were piped in with The Mill The Mill O'. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, and David were piped in with Rowan Tree. Heidi, her father, and the flower girl were piped in with Highland Cathedral. Heidi and David, along with the wedding party, families, and guests were piped out with Scotland The Brave, Murdo's Wedding, and Lord Lovat's Lament.

Skweez The Weezle, for many years. It’s always good to be back.

I played the Scottish Highland bagpipes this afternoon for James Leahy’s funeral at Holy Family Catholic Church in Yakima, Washington. Tunes played as guests arrived were: Danny Boy, The Wearing' o' the Green, The Rakes of Mallow, When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, Notre Dame Victory March, Lament for Red Iain, Garry Owen, Drops of Brandy, and The Foxhunters Jig. I played Going Home and Amazing Grace in the sanctuary just prior to the start of the service.

I played the Scottish Highland bagpipes and played the penny whistle for a couple sing-alongs this evening at the Plungs' 6th Annual Burns Night dinner in West Richland, Washington. I played a selection of tunes to start the evening off right. Tunes included Scotland the Brave and Murdo's Wedding; Drops of Brandy and The Foxhunters Jig; March of the King of Laois and Noble Squire Dacre; Amazing Grace; Farewell to the Tay and The Atholl Highlanders; and Guiness Rambles, The Mill The Mill O', Bonnie Lass of Fyvie. I piped in the haggis with Return From Glengarry. I played whistle while guests sang Loch Lomond and Auld Lang Syne.

Going Home was played to bring his ashes to the grave site. Amazing Grace was played during the service. Highland Cathedral was played to end the service.

It was 14 degrees F when I played the Scottish Highland bagpipes this morning for Donna Rupp’s graveside service at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick, Washington. Going Home was played to bring the casket to the grave site. Amazing Grace was played to end the service. A few tunes were also played for the gathering at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home adjacent to the memorial park.
